Images of the 2017 Trans Am Hybrid Sport sedan leaked
today through a forum PC Auto ahead of the automaker’s planned release.
The 2017 Trans Am Hybrid Sport model, not the same as the
2017 Firebird, is a trim package on the V6-powered car that comes with larger
alloy wheels, a more aggressive body kit, and a lowered suspension. The
interior also gets special trim appointments specific to the package.
When the 2017 Trans Am Hybrid launches in North America,
it will come with two engine options: either a 2.5-liter or 3.5-liter V6. Later
there will also be a four-cylinder Trans Am hybrid drivetrain as well.

With much styling in common with the 2017 Pontiac Trans
Am Hybrid coupe concept, the car is larger than the previous Trans Am with more
interior space thanks to a longer wheelbase, all of which is meant to help it
better compete with BMW, Mercedes and Audi.
